From Stargate Worlds Wiki (SGW)
Stargate Worlds is in the Friends and Family Alpha phase of development.[1] This stage will consist of "waves" of increasing amounts of testers. These testers will have to sign an NDA, though exactly what will be restricted is not known. This phase's purpose is to find bugs in a limited number of game systems. Below is a list of the expected (with reasonable certainty) upcoming phases. There may be breaks between these phases.
[edit] Closed Beta
The purpose of this phase is to test all of the aspects of the game to ensure that all systems operate as they should.
[edit] Open Beta
This phase's purpose is usually to stress test the servers and open to anyone. Sometimes there is a limit to the amount of players allowed.
[edit] Release
Just that! This is the day we've all been waiting for! The game should be more or less complete. Sometimes release dates are different for different countries.
