Naquadah

Noun: A rare element that forms the basis of most Goa'uld technology. It is used in shielding, power conduits, the stargate, power sources and other technolgy. It will likely serve as currency in the game. Can be transmuted through particle bombardment into Naquadria a highly unstable and fissile isotope.

Naquadria

Noun: A highly unstable form of Naquadah. Naquadah can be transformed into Naquadriah by being bombarded with particles produced from an atomic explosion or certain goa'uld weaponry. It can release enormous amounts of energy, which when regulated allow hyperspace travel.

Nerf

Verb: To reduce a weapon, item, ability or player. Usually done because the thing that is nerfed was previously percieved as too powerful giving an unfair advantage. Named for soft Nerf style toys.

Newbie

Noun: A new player.

Ninja

Noun: A player in a group who breaks the looting rules set by the group, in effect stealing the item. A loot ninja is a very undesirable label to acqurie as it can lead to difficulties in finding a group.

Verb: The act of stealing a drop in the fashion of a Ninja looter.

Nirrti

Noun: A Goa'uld attempting to advance human evolution to create a Hok’tar.

Noob (also Newb, Nooblet)

Noun: Usually noob is used in a derogatory sense such as a curse or rude statement generally to someone who is no longer a new player but acts like one.

Nox

Noun: A powerful and peaceful race of aliens and one of the four great races (the others being the Asgard, Ancients and Furlings). They do not wish to share their technology with less advanced races.

NP

Abbr: No Problem.

NPC

Abbr: Non-Player Character. A computer controlled character. Generally refers to friendly NPCs such as quest givers and vendors.

Nuke

Verb: An attack, generally ranged, that does very high amounts of damage. Generally refers to spells cast by a high direct damage class such as a mage. In SGW this may refer to attacks using heavy weapons, such as rocket launchers or a Staff Cannon.
