Sarcophagus

Noun: A Goa'uld device that can heal wounds and revive those recently deceased. However it has negative effects on the users mind giving them delusions of grandeur. The Tok'ra eschew all use of the Sarcophagus.

Server

Noun: Can either refer to the persistent world that a group of players on one server inhabit or to the physical hardware that the server is located on. Most games have a limit on the number of players per server and thus have multiple servers (EVE Online being the notable exception). See Shard.

SG

Noun: SG is the abbreviation of Stargate, the series or the original Stargate movie.

SG-#

Noun: SG-# is a abbreviation of any stargate team.

SG-1

Noun: SG-1 Is the abbreviation of Stargate SG-1 the television series which happens several years after the events of Stargate the movie occurred. Also refers to the Stargate team SG-1, the subject of the television series.

SGA

Noun: SGA is the abbreviation of Stargate Atlantis the SCI-FI Series which began during the 8th season of Stargate SG-1.

SGC

Noun: Abbreviation for Stargate Command the arm of the US Air Force which operates the Stargate Program Command. Also the name of a guild for the upcoming game.

SGW

Noun: SGW is the abbreviation of Stargate worlds, the upcoming MMO from Cheyenne Mountain Entertainment *CME*

Shard

Noun: Refers to the persistent world housed on the server, rather than the physical hardware

Solo

Noun: The act of playing alone.

Soulbound

Noun: A mechanic used to control item distribution. If an item is soulbound it belongs to that player and cannot be traded to another player.

Spawn

Verb: The appearance of a mob, which is controlled by the game and is usually on some sort of timer.

Noun: The new mob that has just spawned.

Spec

Abbr: Specialisation. Refers to the combination of items, skills and abilities to make a character unique. Also can refer to a specific type of build or task that a number of different specialisations are suited for.

Stargate

Noun: A device that creates an artificial wormhole between it and a Gate on another planet allowing near instantaneous transport between them.

SWG

Abbr: Star Wars Galaxies, A MMORPG. Note the difference between SGW (Stargate Worlds) and Star Wars Galaxies (SWG).

Symbiote

Noun: Goa'uld are a parasitical race that require a host body in which to live. The Symbiote is the term for the actual Goa'uld parasite used mainly to distinguish it from it's host. See Goa'uld.
