Items

Stargate Worlds is in the Production Phase. Therefore, any information on this wiki (including the information in the developer quotes) cannot be taken as concrete facts, and may still change. |
In addition to the human and alien weaponry and armor the Stargate universe is replete with all sorts of amazing gadgets, such as the Goa'uld healing devices and the Antionek armbands. Players will be able to use items such as these as well as some that were never in the show.[1][2] Items will be important for many aspects of gameplay and will increase effectiveness, certainly in combat[3] and potentially in other activities. Items will retain their usefulness throughout the game by being upgraded and modified.[4] Items will be able to be acquired in a variety of ways such as purchase, trade, requisition or crafting. There will be rare items, although it is uncertain as to how players will acquire them. Items may also degrade, and repair could be a part of the game.[5] Kull technology will play a key role in many of the technological items in the game.[6]

[edit] Loot
The looting system, while still in development, will be context driven. Loot drops will be based on MOB use. So "exotic alien bears and rats won't be dropping P90s unless you see them using P90s".[7][8]
[edit] Inventory
Inventory management will be as simple as possible, to allow players to get on with playing the game. It will use a slot based system and there will not be encumbrance.[9] It is also possible that the Field Remote Expeditionary Device or FRED (or a similar device for other factions) may be used as some sort of backpack, or even a spawn point.[10]
[edit] Item Binding
Items will have various binding properties depending on the power of the item. Some will only be able to be used by one user, whilst others will be able to be given to other players. How this will be explained is unknown.[11]
[edit] Sending Items
Players can send items to other players via Fed-Extraterrestrial which uses Asgard teleportation technology.
